Chance to have a barrel of fun at the Cuckoo Fayre

Cuckfield’s first major village event of the year promises a day of fun-filled activities for children and grown-ups alike. The 2026 Cuckoo Fayre, organised by The Independent State of Cuckfield, takes place on bank holiday Monday, May 4 at Cuckfield Recreation Ground (behind the Queens Hall).  The event starts at midday and there is plenty to see and do.

Alongside the much-loved and popular dog show, there is a tug-of-war competition and a 'Toss The Barrel' challenge. An arena hosts entertainment displays and there is also a live music tent.

With over 50 stalls there is something to interest everyone, plus there will be plenty of food and refreshment to suit all tastes. For the kids there will be shows from Tomfoolery and fairground rides, plus a chance to meet the Mayor of Cuckfield.
