DAY EIGHT

A site visit where Fairfax Aquisitions want to build 1,450 homes on the edge of Cuckfield, despite having an original attempt for planning permision rejected last October, took place today.

Viewed were the A272 frontage and junction areas. Also the B2036 boundary and proposed access points along with public rights of way crossing or adjoining the site.

Nearby residential areas mentioned in discussions of settlement separation and visual impact, were also examined first hand. Heritage assets within or adjacent to the site, including The Old Place and The Barn House, viewpoints between Ansty and Cuckfield relevant to landscape-impact, and the proposed country park area were other areas visited.

  • Due to the Met Office’s Red Alert weather warning, tomorrow’s (Wednesday’s) final day of the Appeal Hearing is to be implemented virtually through Microsoft Teams.
